what do I need to make this berry chia seed jam?

Berries: Well first, BERRIES (obviously). I chose to use raspberries, but blueberries, strawberries, or blackberries will work just fine too!

Chia Seeds: I loooove using chia seeds in my breakfasts because they expand and gel as they mix with liquid. This makes them really high volume and will keep you full for much longer. The chia seeds also give an amazing texture to this jam!

Maple Syrup: While the berries are naturally sweet, depending on your batch they could be a bit tart. Adding in a touch of maple syrup gives the perfect amount of sweetness while still being natural and refined sugar free. You can also substitute honey here as well.

benefits of chia seeds:

Chia seeds are an incredibly healthy option to consider adding to your daily meals. While they are small, they are mighty! Chia seeds (not to be confused with chai spices;) ) are an incredible source of fiber, omega fatty acids, antioxidants, and tons of micronutrients.

I personally love chia seeds because they increase in volume when mixed with liquid. They absorb a ton of liquid and have a gel-like texture. This means that they are increasing in volume after you eat them, keeping you full and satisfied for longer!

Chia seeds can even be used as an egg replacement when mixed with water for vegan baking! What’s not to love about them? πŸ™‚
